Gold Creek 2008

On December 13, 2008, about seven Scouts participated in a snowshoe day hike to Gold Creek. Though it was snowing much of the time the Scouts were there, it wasn't really wet nor cold. Though many Scouts feared that they would be unable to use their snowshoes, those fears were unfounded as there was plenty of snow. They encountered the first snowfall of the season within the last 24 hours and it was quite pretty. It was very flat and easy, and the trail followed Gold Creek as far as it could. They stopped just before the site of a past avalanche, had lunch as well as hot chocolate from boiled snow, and then hiked out. - JFW
