Annette Lake 2009
Annette Lake was a great day hike in the snow. It was relatively sunny the whole time, and there was mild weather other than the fact that there was snow on the ground. The trail there had about 18 inches of snow on average, and the lake itself was partially frozen over.
We met at the church at 8 am on Saturday November 14th. We left at around 8:30, and got to the trailhead at about 9:30. The hike took us about 2 1/2 hours, and we ate lunch at around 12:30 pm. The lake was beautiful, and it had around 3 or 4 inches of ice. There were nearly 25 people on the hike, including several Weblos II Scouts and parents from Pack 282.
We ate lunch at the lake, and had fun on the hillsides, and on the lake. We left at around 1:30 and got back to the parking lot at around 2:45. We had a few small snowball fights, and got into the cars at three. We arrived back at the church at around 4 o'clock and were home early. All in all a good debut snow hike for this year's winter. - AMG
