Cycling 2009
There was a cycling trip on March 4th, 2008. About 20 Scouts turned out for the 25 mile ride from the Statue of Liberty on Alki to just past the grain terminals all the way across Elliot Bay, then back. This was a requirement for the Cycling Merit Badge, hence why most showed up. When we first arrived, a couple other Scouts and adults had kindly whipped up four Dutch Ovens full of tasty food as practice for the cookoff next week, and most of us ate some. After a little bike maintenence, everyone departed. It was fun biking on the waterfront and seeing all the people enjoying the sunny day. Though there were some mishaps with flat tires, by the end, we had those problems patched up. All in all, it was a very fun day. - JFW
