Snow Sports 2010

On Sunday, March 7th, around 20 Scouts, including some Webelos Scouts, met at the church to go to Summit Central at Snoqualmie Pass. We left right on time and got to the summit at around 9:20 am. Everyone bought their lift tickets, and headed up skiing until 10am.

At 10am everyone went to the yurt below the lifts for a lesson on park skiing safety. Once everyone had their park passes, most of the newer skiers worked on the Merit Badge. The Scouts that already had the Merit Badge mostly stayed in the terrain park by the central express. In the park there are several rails, barrels, jumps, boxes, c-boxes, and rainbow slides that skiers and snowboarders can do tricks off of.

At noon everyone ate lunch at the lodge, and hung out for a while. Then we went all back out and stayed out for the rest of the day until around 4pm. We were supposed to listen to a talk from one of the ski patrol, but he was in the back-country so he couldn't come. After we found out the guy from the ski patrol couldn't come, we took a couple of group photos, packed the cars and left. Definitely on my top 3 list of awesome troop outings. - AMG
